The Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro maintained the same price as the Xiomi 13. However, the next generation of the brand’s flagships will increase their prices

At the end of October Xiaomi presented its new family of most premium smartphones the new Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro, along with what will be the future of the company in terms of software: the new operating system either HyperOS that will connect your mobile phones with wearables, smart home devices and even cars.

The new Xiaomi 14 have not yet arrived in Spain or the rest of the world, but in China they have a price of 3,999 yuan and 4,999 yuan respectively, that is, about 520 euros and 646 euros To the change. However, the company’s CEO has confirmed bad news: starting with the next generation of Xiaomi flagships, prices are going to rise.

Xiaomi will raise the price of its flagships to further improve its phones

Lei Jun, executive director (CEO) of Xiaomi, has commented on his official profile on the Weibo social network that the The company’s highest-end mobile phones will increase their price from the next generation, that is, from the future Xiaomi 15. The reason, according to the executive, is to be able to compete at the highest range with the most premium mobile phones on the market.

According to Jun, in a Weibo message to which he responded to suggestions from Xiaomi users:

“The base price (of smartphones) will definitely increase. “We are striving to improve the features and experience of the product!”

The message has been shared by the Asian media MyDrivers, which also mentions that the executive had already given clues about this future increase in a press conference. “This could be the last time that Xiaomi flagships are priced at 3,999 yuan,” he said, referring to the Xiaomi 14 in its base version.

A price increase is always bad news, although it has only been announced for the brand’s highest-end mobile phones, at least for now. With this rise, they will arrive even more premium features and features that allow it to compete head to head with other manufacturers in that range.

However, I can’t help but wonder: taking into account that the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro include features such as the chip Qualcomm’s most powerful (Snapdragon 8 Gen 3), Leica cameras and a screen with a maximum brightness of up to 3,000 nits, what are they thinking of incorporating to surprise the market in the next generation of their flagships?

And the other question, perhaps more important, is: What price will that more expensive future Xiaomi 15 have outside of China? The Xiaomi 14 has the same base price (in China) as the Xiaomi 13, which was launched in Spain with a price of 999 euros. We can assume that the Xiaomi 14 will arrive in Europe with the same price, but if the Xiaomi 15 will be more expensive in China during its launch, we will see how its price is affected in the rest of the world.
