About a month after the rollout of Android 13 for Zenfone 9 (which we also tried a second time for the occasion), here is Asus starts the release of thelatest version of the green robot for Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip, keeping faith with the promises of November. The update for Zenfone 8 ZS590KS and for the “transformist” ZenFone 8 Flip ZS672KS is in rollout also in Europeif some of the active units in Italy had not yet received it, it should only be a matter of hours, at most days.

- System updated to Android 13
- Updates to Mobile Manager, Contacts, Phone, Emergency Call, File Manager, Calculator, Clock, Gallery, Weather, Audio Recorder, Settings, Data Transfer, Local Backup etc
- Quick Settings panel, notification bar and volume panel adjusted to Android 13 design
- Added request for permission to receive notifications. You can whitelist individual apps in Apps & Notifications Settings
- Added automatic clipboard deletion and editor functionality
- Added QR code scanner option for lock screen shortcut function and Control from locked device function in Security & lock screen setting
- Depending on the Digital Wellbeing setting, the system color scheme can be set to automatically switch from the before bed option
- Updated Vibration and haptic feedback, Display and font size settings, and white navigation bar width/length when choosing gesture navigation
- Changed the Blocked numbers setting in Phone to the stock behavior: you will not receive calls or text messages from blocked numbers
- Removed Call Duration setting
- Replaced original style settings with new background and style settings: removed shape option, themed icon support and system color is reset to blue
- Added quick link sharing function in ASUS Launcher
- Added Asus customization preference setting. It allows you to apply the collection of commonly used personalization settings with one tap
- Removed the “Calm” and “Elegant” options in the Power Button Menu Style setting
- Changed the design of the keyboard and contact details page in the Phone app to display information more clearly
- Some third-party apps are not yet compatible with Android 13
- Updated system modes to the latest version, including “High Performance”, “Dynamic”, “Durable” and “Ultra Durable”. Game Genie has also been updated to the latest version, to allow for quick mode switching in games.
To speed up the installation time, you can always make a Manually check for Android 13 availability. Just follow the path: Settings > System > System Update. If the new version is available, just follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation process.
