Well known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has shared his views on demand for Apple products and future releases. Kuo sees better-than-expected demand for the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max, which will apparently offset slightly weaker sales for the iPhone 12 and 12 mini. In terms of new products, Kuo says we will see a redesign of the Apple Watch and MacBook series form factor in the second half of 2021. As for iPads, Kuo says demand for the new iPad Air is still strong. It also claims that Apple will add mini-LED displays and 5G cellular connectivity to the iPad series next year. Regarding the Apple Watch, customer response to the Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE has been good. Kuo says he expects “innovative health management features and improved form factor design” with the new Apple Watch models next year. The reception of M1-chip Macs is also being better than expected, according to Kuo. The analyst claims that Apple will introduce new Macs with its chips and new form factors and an industrial design, in the second half of 2021. Lastly, Kuo says that AirPods shipments are lower than originally estimated, and Kuo forecasts a 5-10% decline in sales year-over-year for the next six-month period. Kuo expects the launch of “AirPods 3” to be delayed from early 2021 until April-June.
