Apple wants super-defined OLED displays for its VR and AR headsets

Apple is working hard on the development of its first VR headset and AR glasses and it seems that the Cupertino house has recently asked some of its partners for more effort, in particular Samsung LG. Its South Korean companies, in fact, will take care of the realization of the OLED panels that will be present in the next Apple devices and it seems that the house of the bitten apple has requested a net increase in the definition of screens.

To give us these rumors is the South Korean newspaper The Elec, which emphasizes that the new definition target is equal to 3,500 ppiagainst the 2,800 ppi previously established, thus going to require an important step forward that will result in sharper and more defined screens.

However, it should be noted that these OLED panels will not be equipped on the first generation viewers – the first model is expected as early as January 2023 -, but will be used on subsequent models that will arrive in the next few years, so this is something that does not we can try it shortly.

In addition to this, it seems that these screens will not be traditional OLEDs, but will be OLEDoS screens, in which the glass elements are replaced by silicon, a technology designed explicitly for the world of viewers.
