Do you remember those June days of WWDC 2021? IPhone, iPad, macOS and tvOS users gradually received Apple Music’s spatial audio and lossless audio upgrade. Then, on June 14, the first beta with these news for Android was launched. Today, at dawn in Spain, it became official version 3.6 Apple Music with the new features implemented for Android.

What’s new in Apple Music for Android?

Spatial audio, lossless audio, automatic crossfade, and library search enhancements, are the most important news in version 3.6 of Apple Music for Android. As a user of a Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Pro, I was looking forward to this update. First impressions are very positive, although I would say that time will give you the feeling that you are listening to the audio without any loss of quality.

In this update, Apple Music adds a spatial listening experience on supported devices, with thousands of Dolby Atmos tracks available at launch.

Other updates include:
• Lossless Audio, a new way to experience uncompromising sound with bit-by-bit precision.
• Automatic Crossfade, a new way of listening (music) that combines each song with the next for the perfect experience.
• Library search enhancements that make it easier for you to find your favorite music with online search.

How to check lossless audio settings

In the Apple Music app, you can enter the lossless audio settings at the three-dot icon. In the Audio section, which is the initial one, you can find the Audio Quality option. Here you can review the options to activate and manage the “Lossless” option. We suggest you look at them carefully since there are different application options, from via Wi-Fi, downloads or with mobile data.
