Apple may bring subtle changes to the construction of its cell phones in 2023. According to new information revealed this Friday (24), the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus may have their proximity sensors positioned on the Dynamic Island (Dynamic Island), while the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Ultra would have the mechanism positioned under the screen.
Rumors suggest that all models this year will have the Dynamic Island, abandoning the design used since the iPhone X. With that, the most affordable models in the line can have their proximity sensor located in the notch. Ming-Chi Kuo, renowned market analyst, says the change should not affect the sensor’s performance.
It should be remembered that the iPhone 14 Pro, the brand’s first cell phone with Dynamic Island, already has a proximity sensor positioned under the screen, so the technology will be repeated on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Ultra (or Pro Max). Despite the difference in construction, the notch should occupy the same area on the screen on all models.
The informant explains that IQE, a British company of optoelectronic mechanisms, should replace Landmark as the exclusive supplier of components for the iPhone 15’s depth sensor. 1,380 nanometers on the iPhone 14 Pro).
The iPhone 15 should be announced in mid-September. Its specifications should include the new screen with Dynamic Island, 12 MP cameras and the A16 Bionic processor “inherited” from the iPhone 14 Pro. The more expensive models should bring the A17 Bionic, which will be TSMC’s first chip for smartphones with 3-nanometer lithography.
The Apple iPhone 14 Pro is available at Magazine Luiza for BRL 7,199. The cost-benefit is average and this is the best model in this price range. To see the other 172 offers click here.
