There is much speculation about Apple entering the virtual and mixed reality market with the development of a new headset. Despite having the date postponed for the virtual reality headset, the mixed reality headset could be released at any time, and the new rumor is a partnership with Disney and Sony Group to develop content compatible with the device. .

The Walt Disney Company would be developing something from virtual reality (VR) to a mixed reality (MR) headset. And as per the latest reports, the headset was developed in partnership with Sony Group and will feature two ultra-high resolution displays, external cameras for VR and a variety of passing modes for augmented reality.

Apple TV+ content is also being updated to work with the headphones, which are expected to launch later this year. MR headsets allow users to use real world objects to get a response in the virtual world.

The MR headset is expected to cost around US$3,000 (R$15,000). Double the $1,500 Quest Pro virtual headset and MR Meta Platforms Inc released last year.

It’s worth noting that neither Disney, nor Apple, nor Sony have commented on the report, but it is a confirmation of Apple’s interest in this sector of the marketwhich increases the chance of new partnerships with media companies and content creators.
