One of the biggest concerns for many users is security while browsing the Internet from their mobile phone. The truth is that we can use antivirus for our system, but there are operators such as Vodafone, which offer their service so that customers can browse safely from their smartphones. When choosing an operator or another at the time of registering a mobile line, it is essential to look at the services that each of them offers us. One of the most determining factors when deciding on one company or another is usually the price or offer made to us promptly. However, it is also essential to look at this type of services that individual operators, such as Vodafone, offer to your clients, and they can be great day-to-day utility.

What is Vodafone Secure Net and what it protects us from

For those who do not know Vodafone Secure Net yet, it is an exclusive service for clients that allows surfing the Internet from the mobile phone no risk and that protects from all kinds of viruses, threats and cyber attacks. A service that is included in all rates with mobile browsing, which has no commitment to use and can be unsubscribed at any time.

But also, the Vodafone service is capable of directing us to a notice page when we go to visit a website that detects as insecure so that we are the ones who decide whether we want to enter it or prefer to avoid any risk that visiting it could entail. If we try to download an insecure file or harmful, Vodafone Secure Net blocks the download and shows us an informative warning about how dangerous it can be to download it.

Now, whenever we are connected to the Vodafone mobile network, we will be protected from all these dangers except these exceptions:

  • If you change the APN.

  • If we are not connected to the Vodafone network (for example, WiFi).
  • If we choose another roaming provider.
  • If we navigate in https connections.
  • If we use data compression services for Smartphone.
  • If we use browsers that can compress and encrypt traffic (except the Vodafone version of Opera Mini, Nokia Xpress, Microsoft BOS and Google Chrome).
  • If we use a proxy service.
  • If we operate with some email protocols (except HTTP, POP3 and SMTP).

If we have Vodafone Secure Net activated, the service will send us an SMS every month with all the information regarding the blockages and threats that we have been able to avoid due to the protection offered by the service. There we can see the number of download blocks and unsafe content pages that were made. It is also essential to know that the service does not save our browsing data, only check the web addresses of the sites we enter to warn us of any danger.
