AirPods and AirTags and the similarity that few know about. Apple AirPods have become increasingly popular due to their sleek design and easy connectivity with Apple devices.

But what many don’t know is that, like AirTags, they are also trackable through Apple’s Find My network.

And a recent incident at the San Francisco International Airport perfectly illustrates this fact.

The true story of a robbery.

Alisabeth Hayden, a passenger on a flight from Tokyo to San Francisco, lost her AirPods after landing at the airport.

After realizing that she had forgotten her leather jacket in her seat, the flight attendant refused to let her go back to her seat to retrieve it.

Instead, the flight attendant brought him his jacket, but Hayden realized after boarding another flight to Seattle that his AirPods were no longer in his jacket pockets.

Fortunately, as many know, Apple AirPods can be tracked through the Find My network.

Hayden used the app to see the location of his wireless headphones, initially discovering that they were still at the San Francisco airport.

They were then moved to a United Cargo unit at the airport, and later located at a residential address in San Mateo, in the Bay Area.

A thief, AirPods and AirTags.

Despite reporting the incident to United and the San Francisco airport, nothing was done about it.

However, Hayden did not give up. He contacted the police and received help from a detective working for the San Mateo police.

Together, they tracked the AirPods to the home of a contractor airport employee who loads food onto the plane.

After questioning the employee, he finally admitted that he had the AirPods. According to him, they had been given to him by one of the plane cleaners.

Although Hayden eventually got his AirPods back, they were sadly not in good condition.

After multiple complaints, United gave him $271.91 to buy new headphones, along with 5,000 bonus miles as an apology.

AirPods and AirTags and their importance.

This incident underscores the importance of treating other people’s personal items with care. Also, as demonstrated in this case, AirPods are trackable through Apple’s Find My network.

This means that by stealing them, you are not only stealing a valuable item, but you are also risking discovery and legal consequences.

We can say that Apple AirPods are not only wireless headphones, but also trackable through the Find My network.

Although this feature is useful for finding lost items, it also means that stolen AirPods are easily traceable.

Therefore, it’s important to treat other people’s personal items with care and not steal someone else’s AirPods.
