Adobe Firefly was announced in March 2023 as the rival to Dall-E and Midjourney for enhancing and generating images through artificial intelligence (AI). Now Firefly is getting a huge improvement: the ability to edit, enhance and manipulate videos with just a few commands and AI.
Among the capabilities described by Adobe for editing videos with Firefly are selecting specific parts of a video such as a person’s face, objects and areas such as the sky to perform edits on them with smart selection and parameters entered in a dialog box with natural language through artificial intelligence.
You can also use Firefly to create professional-grade graphics with just a few words in the same box. The editor is even capable of creating music, sounds, subtitles, logos, titles and other types of illustrations for videos with just a few clicks and quick descriptions.
These new features will certainly help editors a lot to save time, as it will not be necessary to create each of these materials from scratch, just describe how they should be and Firefly will use its AI based on Sense AI to generate what is necessary.
Another positive point is that all material generated by Firefly is copyright free, as Adobe claims that it used public domain and Adobe Stock images to train Firefly and Sense AI. In this way, all graphics, sounds and videos generated by the platform can be used without any problems.
Adobe says this and more updates will be available for the suite later this year.
