The 99 application launched a new safety feature for partner drivers, which shows a photo of the passenger who will be boarding. This is the first time that a mobility app with a nationwide reach has implemented this measure, as the requirement always comes for only drivers to identify themselves.

According to the company, this novelty meets the demands of partners because it makes the profile of customers more complete and offers greater support for workers. In a survey, 85% of drivers reported that they feel more secure in being able to see a photo of the person they will transport. In addition, 94% of those registered believe that the photo is important information to help identify the passenger. In addition to the security aspect, it is easier to recognize the face when boarding and avoid conflicts.

To insert the photo in the 99 app, the passenger can choose an image from the cell phone gallery or taken on the spot with your device’s camera. The new feature has begun to be implemented by the company and will be available to passengers and drivers across Europe over the next three months.

Currently, when accepting a ride, the driver or rider on the platform can only see the passenger note information, frequency and document verification. The new feature will show the passenger’s photo as soon as the partner arrives near the boarding point, allowing you to verify that the person waiting for you corresponds to the one who requested the trip.
